    build

Time for a drive-by - the large house being built on Section 15 is well underway and building on Section 13 is about to commence.

    December 2008

Stage 2 is now complete and the sections are looking fantastic. Ducks have taken residence in the ponds, the grass has been well established and the landscaping has added to the natural beauty of the site. Building on several sections is scheduled to begin early in the New Year. Titles for the stage 2 sections are now available.

The Packhouse and Coolstores have now all been relocated in plenty of time to be fully operational for the coming fruit season.

    shed removal

This is the removal of main packhouse. The packhouse is being relocated - removal of these sheds will enable perspective buyers to see how picturesque this site truly is. All packhouse buildings and the coolstores will be moved during July and will be up and running again in their new location by mid august. Read more about the packhouse moving here >>

Titles are now available for stage 1. Contact Southernwide Central Real Estate for further information.

    placing the entrance stone

The contractors finished this week, with all the roads, curbing, drainage etc having been completed. The water features and the entrance landscaping are all in place. The council are to inspect the site next week.

As planned a public open day will be held on Sat 29th December from 10am to 1pm. This day is designed to provide interested buyers and curious locals an opportunity to view the sections close up - all information on the subdivision will be available at the openday.

Section update - another section sold

Section 13 has been sold! The subdivision is selling better than expected given that the construction is only now nearing completion. This may lead to a re-pricing on several of the sections - it's likely that some sections will increase in price in 2008.

    September 2007

Construction is well underway with all services now in the ground . Both dams have been constructed with lining and landscape to follow.

The Picnic creek channel has been formed and looks as if it could get most of the Clutha down it if necessary. We are presently tidying up the land ready to cultivate.

We have been able to temporally connect the irrigation system to our existing orchard irrigation system so will be able to start irrigating trees and new sown grass even if the on-sight dam and associated pump is not commissioned for a couple of months.

We hope to start planting trees in the next 2 weeks. Road construction will start shortly with the total project on schedule to be completed by early November.

The Sale and Purchase agreement has now been finalised and 3 sections signed up and deposits paid.

These are sections 1, Section 2 and section 10. We also have strong interest on another couple of sections.

Construction to start at Picnic Creek

Fulton Hogan have been granted the contract from five bidders and are proposing to start work next week.

The first stage will be the bulk earthworks required for forming roads. This involves the removal of up to 4,500 cubic metres of material. They will have the bulk of the major works done by the end of September. This will be perfect timing for us to have the irrigation up and running for spring planting of the 800 trees and the sowing of lawns.

The contract provides for all work to be completed by the end of November. We will then be in a great position to commence marketing with a major open day and promotion around Christmas time.

Picnic Creek Sub-division held an open day for all local real estate agents on site today.

The response to the plans and prices which were released during the morning was very positive. Several interested parties have already been in contact to further discuss the sections.

It is expected that agents will actively start to promote the sub-division from Easter.
